Eo3 6-Week “Be The Elephant” Challenge

Eo3 6-Week “Be The Elephant” Challenge

If you have been around End of Three Fitness for awhile, you know the elephant is my favorite animal, and for good reason.

One of the first articles I ever wrote here was “Training to Be Like the Elephant“, where I describe why we should train to be like the elephant, or more specifically, the elephant’s trunk. To quote some of the original article:

The trunk is strong enough to lift a log about a foot thick & weighing close to 400 to 500 pounds (200 to 250 kg) and is flexible and accurate enough to pick up a coin off the floor.

The Elephant has been called “The Jack of All Trades and Master of All”, and rightfully so. The Elephant is an impressive animal and the Elephant’s trunk resembles the versatility needed to be an elite Athlete. You can not just dead-lift 700lbs and call your self an elite athlete. You must be able to, not only lift the 700lbs, but you must have the dynamic versatility to demonstrate flexibility and accuracy to perform a skilled body weight movement. We train to be like the elephant. We want to master every domain of fitness that we can.

Check out this sweet video I shot a few years ago of an Elephant killing some tire flips! [Watch on YouTube]

We are going to train to be like the elephant for the next 6-Weeks!!!

We are going to work on building strength…while also increasing our work capacity.
We are going to work on endurance…while also developing our skills.

If you are unfamiliar with how the 6-Week challenges work around here, don’t worry, we have only had one [read about it here]. All those who participated in the first challenge saw amazing results in their overall level of conditioning. I was super-impressed with the work ethic and overall awesomeness of the peeps over at Eo3Fit.

Anyway, here is how it works, and it may change from time to time, but this one will be similar to the last. We will…

  • Perform a baseline workout.
  • Perform all workouts at Eo3Fit for 6 Weeks.
  • Perform baseline workout again.

This 6-Week challenge is a tall order!!

In 6 weeks we are going to improve everything…That’s right…everything. It is a tall order for me, you and everyone. It will take a lot of work, but it will also be a lot of fun.

Eo3 6-Week “Be The Elephant” Challenge Baseline Workout:

  • 6 min to est. 1 rep heavy squat clean
  • Rest 1 min
  • Max Rep Burpees in 60 sec.
  • Rest 1 min
  • 1 min rep test back squat @ 225/185/135/95
  • Rest 1 min
  • Handstand Hold 1 min
  • Rest 1 min
  • Run max meters in 7 min

Your score for this workout is a single number…

Squat clean weight + Burpees + Back Squat Reps + Seconds held of handstand + Meters ran = Workout Score

Example:

225 lb + 40 burpees + 24 back squats @ 225 lb + 27 sec. held + 1,400 m ran = 1,716

That score is the score you will compare to at then end of the 6-week challenge.

For all the details and to get started head over to Eo3Fit and get started!!

Good luck!

Will you take the challenge??

All of the workouts (after the first one) are broken down by skill level from beginners to competitors, so anyone can participate. Join us!
