Mental Toughness, Insomniacs and Ask Me Anything?

Mental Toughness, Insomniacs and Ask Me Anything?

Yep! That’s me testing out the Mental Toughness Militia! And today the pre-release sign up begins 🙂

Phase 1 of the Mental Toughness Militia is underway! It’s been a little while since I mentioned the progress on this project. If you haven’t noticed, I have been blogging only once a week some weeks, which is very abnormal for me, as I like to stick to my twice a week standard.

Anyway, this project is the reason for posting less…I have been doing a TON of research for this project, and I have been testing most of it on myself, friends and family. Phase 2, I will shoot it out to my already pre-selected beta testers, then on to Phase 3, the release of the Mental Toughness Militia.

I don’t want the “militia” portion of this project to scare anyone off, don’t worry, you are not being conscripted into some sort of military service, and it’s certainly not a cult 🙂

It’s pretty simple…We are going to get our minds right!

The right workout plans, strength programs and diets are all out there…and they are effective. If you aren’t seeing results it is most likely because you don’t have your mind right.

So let’s get it there.

We will unlock the key to true intensity, how to maintain it and help you develop the mental stamina to STICK to a diet or workout program.

Let’s get you out of your rut, jump started and ready to take on the world.

Why the Mental Toughness Militia??

A few months ago I feel like I hit a lull in my training. I wasn’t going as hard, I became bored with programs after two or three weeks. I thought I was overtrained…So I took some time off, came back and I was still the same…What’s up with me!?

I scoured the Internet looking for ways to become more mentally tough. All I could find were Navy SEALs telling me how to become more mentally tough…too cliche and not applicable (those guys are machines)…and sports psychologists giving me studies on how the brain works…

Those are all well and good, but I wanted exercises, not necessarily a workout program, but mental toughness training exercises. Well I am happy to report, that’s what I have developed and my fire for training is back!! I’ve gotten out of my rut and back to the grind!

If you feel like this is something you would love to be a part use this link to go ahead and sign-up for the pre-release of the Mental Toughness Milita using the below link:

A New Challenge Emerges: Insomniac Challenge

If you are not already familiar with Eo3Fit, a new challenge officially kicks off today! (If you get Eo3Fit Workouts via email, this is old news).

  • End of Three Fit: Fitness Forged at The End of a Countdown

Welcome to the next 6-week challenge at Eo3Fit, the Insomniac Challenge!!

I know what you are thinking…”What!? I don’t want to be an insomniac!!”

Well, here is the premise behind the challenge. I want to institute another method of programming here at Eo3Fit that I have been using a lot, and for a long time. It is very beneficial. It is also part of the upcoming new program called the Mental Toughness Militia and this will be one of many experiments for the program.

  • Rest timing

Once a week we will do a workout where we only time how much we rest. So if you were doing a workout of 21-15-9 of bench press and pull-ups, your time of completion is irrelevant during rest timing workouts. The time we will track is how much you rest. You will need a stopwatch handy, I recommend one you can wear. Every time you stop to take a breath or rest start your stop watch. Once you start working again stop the timer.

  • Our goals is to never rest, thus being restless much like an Insomniac (see the loose connection there)

We will do a baseline rest-timing wod then test it again at the end of the 6-weeks. We are also going to work on getting stronger, who doesn’t want that?? Here is the rest of what you need to know.

Challenge Details

  • 5 Days a Week
  • 4 lifts – Combined Power Lifting and Olympic Lifting Short Cycle (6-weeks)
  • Weekly rest-timing WOD
  • 5 WODs a weeks

Goals

  • Increase Strength
  • Decrease rest times in WODs
  • Increase intensity, thus work capacity, thus overall fitness!

This challenge officially starts today!!
