The Hero Shake

The Hero Shake

2013-01-10 By Jerred Moon

Do you have a hero?

I do.

My hero is my grandpa, or as I like to call him, Pop. My Pop is in his mid 70’s and is one pretty cool dude. That’s him, below, reppin’ the Orignal Eo3 Shirt at the Grand Canyon (thanks Pop!). He has a simple outlook on life, and it serves him well, something I strive for. When Emily and I got married one of the things he said to me was, “Don’t ever fight about money, you both know how much you have, and you have what you have, no sense in fighting about it”. Well said! And Emily and I never fight about money.

He also has kept an active home gym ever since I have been alive (and he still works out regularly), and he can build absolutely anything with his hands. But he can weld! If I could weld, the DIY Corner may look a little bit different :). So maybe he is the real inspiration behind End of Three Fitness, but I digress…

I was fortunate enough to spend some time with my Pop over the Christmas Holiday and he told me that he used to get sick, nothing major, but colds and regular sicknesses from time to time…but then he told me about a shake…A shake he has been making for years…A shake that ever since he started having, every morning…he hasn’t been sick in years!!

Here’s to working out till you’re in your 70’s (and beyond) and not getting sick!

The Hero Shake

  • Honey
  • 1 Scoop Protein Powder
  • 2 Scoops of Oatmeal
  • 1 Apple
  • 2 Carrots
  • 22 Grapes
  • 1 Yogurt Scoop
  • 1 Banana
  • 6 Strawberries
  • 1 Cup of Milk

Step 1: Gather Ingredients

Step 2: Put It All in a Blender

Step 3: Blend

Step 4: Enjoy!

This shake is delicious! It makes enough for two, so keep that in mind when you make it. Just half everything if you only want to make one. Not exactly Paleo, but I will have to go with the field research (my Pop) on this one. The amount of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants in this shake are enough to keep you fit and healthy for a long time.

That’s the hero shake!!

Do you have a healthy shake you enjoy regularly? Care to share?
