Protein Power Balls
This is a recipe for a little something I like to call Power Balls. These make a great post-workout snack because they are full of protein, but they are also delicious any time of day as a quick snack. If you’re looking for a healthy, homemade alternative to a protein bar, or granola bar and you don’t mind getting your hands dirty, then these are for you!
Here is the recipe:
- ¾ cup vanilla whey protein powder
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ cup chopped nuts of any kind, we used walnuts
- 2 tablespoons ground flax seeds
- 1 cup toasted oats
- ¼ cup raisins
- ¼ cup chopped unsweetened dried apricots
- ½ cup peanut butter
- 1/3 cup honey
The steps couldn’t be any easier.
After toasting your oats, mix all the dry ingredients together.
Then, add the honey and the peanut butter.
Mix everything together until it forms crumbles.
Form into 1-inch balls and keep in freezer.
These are great to make in large batches as well. The recipe makes about 26 balls. Might I suggest doubling the recipe, as these tend to go pretty quickly! They are a favorite around our house!
Enjoy!
