We all go through different stages of a workout…It’s inevitable.
Whether you are waking up early to tackle a workout, or hitting one up as soon as you get home from work, on the weekend or whatever the case may be; you go through different stages during a workout.
Sometimes you go through stages and sometimes it is just as fun to go through these stages as it is to watch someone else go through the stages.
Each stage you make it through is more progress, more results and a better version of you…to a point…Read on!
Let’s take a glance, shall we?
Excitus Tostartium
This is when you are super-excited to workout. For some reason, today, you just have that energy and that mentality you need to get it done. You have the music blaring in your headphones, you are excited. You are talking about the workout you are about to do, and overall you are pretty happy.
Just one problem, you have forgotten working out can be unpleasant…

Ahh, now you remember that working out is as fun as you remember, and that even the easiest looking workouts can be deceiving.
You all of sudden become concerned with an “injury” or the possibility of such and your brain starts to fire out excuses on why working out is actually a bad idea right now. You have too much work to be working out, or too little time.
You have two options at this point….Quit early or press on to the next stage…

Uncomfortableerus
Alright! You passed the simple mental obstacle of convincing (tricking) yourself that this is what you want to be doing. Unfortunately this does not make anything easier.
Your brain has now shut up, but your body will now start to talk. Things are getting uncomfortable, you are starting to push yourself and you are showing physical signs of fatigue. Your mind may weaken momentarily and you will lose that perfect form, but you at this point you care very little.
Until you finally push it to the next level…

Optimal Workoutisius
You are now at a place where you are comfortable being uncomfortable. You know exactly what you are doing and you are more concerned with the efficiency of your movements than your level of comfort.
This is not a place you get to every workout, but it is always there. It is the “zen” that hides right behind extended duration discomfort. Wheter you open the door to this stage of a workout is up to you. Others will think you enjoy pain, and you may even give a smile at the worst points of pain.
But be carful not to push it further…
Workout Results: 100% (You’re there!)
Tookittoo Farite
You got a little overzealous. you were so excited about getting to the optimal workout stage that you wanted to see how much further you could go. Just one problem…you shouldn’t be there.
Your body will let you know when you have taken it on a journey it wasn’t prepared for. This often time means dizziness, unconsciousness, vomit during or after a workout and the possible arrival of emergency medical technicians.
Workout Results: -5%, Technically, your body is seeing results, but you also just made a healthy activity unhealthy and dangerous…so I say negative %.
