I’m just going to get straight to it
The results from Round 2 of ACCELERATE are in!
Hundreds of people from the EO3 Community (Athletes) have now completed our ACCELERATE program and I couldn’t be happier with the results.
If you are new here, or haven’t got a chance to check out ACCELERATE, let me give you a brief explanation.
ACCELERATE is our premiere 12-Week strength and conditioning program. It tackles your training from every angle
- Programming (of course)
- Mindset
- Nutrition
- Community
- And more
You can download the free eBook here to learn more, see sample workouts and go over the FAQs.
It’s pretty awesome.
And it is meant to do exactly what is sounds like ACCELERATE your progress from wherever your starting point may be.
Now, I am a numbers junkie.
I am not content with people signing up, running through an EO3 program and seeing marginal results.
So after every round I sit down to review the survey results, crunch the numbers, and report them to EO3.
Why?
Well, I feel what we are doing here at EO3 is bigger than barbell training alone.
We, as a community, are shaping a new direction for Strength and Conditioning.
I honestly believe that.
So, consider this a State of the Union for EO3 training.
And what we are learning is that ACCELERATE Strength and Conditioning is a huge equalizer for combining strength and overall fitness.
So what did ACCELERATE Athletes accomplish?
In 2015, we ran the 12-Week program two different times.
First, round one
In round one, we got the following average results:
- SQUAT increased 30.37 LB
- PRESS increased 16.16 LB
- DEADLIFT increased 32.14 LB
- MILE TIME 36.12 seconds FASTER!!
- WORK CAPACITY 14% Faster
Ridiculously amazing results! These athletes got a lot stronger and fitter.
Next, round two
In round two, we got these results:
- SQUAT increased 21.17 LB
- PRESS increased 10.5 LB
- DEADLIFT increased 27.7 LB
- MILE TIME 54 seconds FASTER!!
- WORK CAPACITY 17% Faster
Yes, the strength numbers are a little bit lowerbut maybe that should help you realize I am not blowing smoke here 🙂
I report what happens.
Either way, amazing results! The overall fitness levels and speed increases were INSANE!
I recalculated the mile time AVERAGE increases three times before I believed it myself. I mean the average nearly doubled from the last time.
The new averages
New overall ACCELERATE Averages:
- SQUAT increased 25.77 LB
- PRESS increased 13.33 LB
- DEADLIFT increased 29.92 LB
- MILE TIME 45.06 seconds FASTER!!
- WORK CAPACITY 15.5% Faster
Why I report Numbers
To be honest, the results of these two rounds of ACCELERATE were very close to the same.
There was only a 1-3% variation in each category.
And that’s something to keep in mind
Real Example:
- One athlete came in with a 50 lb overhead press and left with a 55 lb overhead press. It’s only a 5 LB increaseright? Yea, but that’s a 10% gain!
- Another athlete came in with a 185 lb overhead press and I left with just under a 10% increase, at 200 lb.
That’s a 5 LB inc. vs. a 15 LB inc.
Seems like a huge difference, but pretty accurately hitting a 10% increase in overhead press.
Anyway
I report the numbers because they are more real to me.
We take these massive averages of the athletes who can lift 50 lb overhead and the beast who can press 200+ lb over head and give a real-world average of what YOU can expect.
And it’s fun to report these to you!
Maybe I will start to report percents too, but I am still blown away by the overall results.
Are We Making a Dent in the World?
Let me recap that for you real quick.
On average athletes are: gaining 70 LB of strength across three lifts, taking 45 seconds off their mile time and getting 15% faster at metcon workoutsin ONLY 12-weeks!
Not to mention these are the only tests we do, right now. We do just about every lift you can think of in this program.
Yea, we are making a dent.
Hey, we are still a small community in the grand scheme of things. But we are headed in the right direction.
Getting stronger isn’t the toughest thing to do, and neither is getting faster or fitter.
But combining it all. That’s a challenge.
And we are getting data points from more and more athletes.
You know what’s better than a theory, training philosophy, or idea?
100’s of athletes in our community with results!
It’s crazy.
ACCELERATE is not a strength program
ACCELERATE is not a conditioning program
ACCELERATE is a strength AND conditioning program!
The athletes who go through this program and come out on the other side are stronger, faster and harder to kill 🙂
And it all stems from our 5 core principles
1.) Optimal Training – Optimizing the time you have
2.) Dig The Hole. Fill The Hole. – Focus on Recovery and Proper VolumeÂ
3.) Random is Dead – Quit randomly doing fitness!Â
4.) Simplicity – Simple is not easy, but simple is not complicated.Â
5.) Blur The Lines – Don’t compartmentalize your training
If you are interested in the ACCELERATE program at all, you need to download our eBook which covers the principles in details and gives you example training days and even answers some common questions.
Thanks for reading!
To becoming better!
