Two years of revolting and we are still going strong!
Believe it or not, End of Three Fitness turns two years old this month. To me, it feels like I have been running this site for much longer than that, but at the same time I can’t believe it has been two full years. I am really excited to write this ‘birthday’ post because it gives a chance for new readers to see what End of Three Fitness is doing, or has done, and it gives a chance for the veterans to reflect on all the things you’ve been a part of.
Because, really, this post is just over 1,300 words of me telling you how awesome the Eo3 Community and readers are.
So, what has happened in the second year of the Better-Human Revolution? Let’s recap.
One Man One Barbell Release
In January of this year I released One Man One Barbell to all you Eo3 readers (and the world); the results you have sent in and stories you have told have been incredibly humbling, inspirational and exciting to read. See, I didn’t just put a program out there for the sake of putting a program out there. No, as a coach, I felt I had a unique, effective and tested strength program that could benefit a lot of people that I wanted to share and so I did.
Now, One Man One Barbell is gaining more and more ground in the strength AND conditioning world and I have all of YOU to thank for trusting me in trying out my strength program and sharing your results with your friends either online or even by word-of-mouth.  I truly appreciate it. One Man One Barbell was featured in Sweat RX magazine this year, it is scheduled to be featured in a much larger magazine within the next few months (shhh, no one is supposed to know yet) and is even being independently tested at a major university (hopefully results are posted sometime next year).
Seriously, I have my Eo3 family to thank for its success. Thank you.
Top 10 Fitness Blog
It was not too long ago that End of Three Fitness was announced as a Top 10 Fitness Blog for 2013 by Breaking Muscle, which I think is just straight crazy. Again, the only way my blog was even going to be considered for review was is if I had enough readers go vote/add comments saying End of Three Fitness was worth checking out.
And all the Eo3 readers came through!
But I did make a promise for all those votes. I said I would drop and give 50 push-ups to each and every single reader who voted, which equates to well over 4,000 push-ups. Here is where we stand on the push-ups; the short story because I don’t like making excuses…I completed ALL of the push-ups and I filmed most of them, but what I wanted to do was film them in cool locations and places, so this kind of turned into a mini-production. But then….I lost a couple thousand push-ups worth of video filmed in cool locations (just vanished from my computer)…
So I have started from scratch. The video will be finished here in a few weeks, but it will be a few push-ups in cool locations and then the rest in my living room and garage. So the video went from epic to mediocre, but at least I will have them all done for you guys. Stay tuned for the video!
Completed The Fallen Hero Project
The Fallen Hero Project ran from November 11, 2012 (Veteran’s Day) to May 27, 2013 (Memorial Day) in which the Eo3 community  raised money for the Wounded Warrior Project while collectively shooting for the goals of lifting 5,000,000 pounds, moving 500,000 meters and completing 50,000 reps. Goals, honestly, I thought would be near impossible, but that was not the case!
Again, the Eo3 community came through!
We completed 5,468,491 pounds lifted, we moved 607,771 meters and performed 200,269 reps! What an accomplishment! Read more about the completion of the Fallen Hero Project here.
The Rally Point Launched
So what do you do with a group of highly-motivated, fitness-oriented individuals? You give them a place to demonstrate their awesomeness!
It is just under two months since the launch of The Rally Point and we are at 1,000+ posts and over 230+ members. We have ran some successful challenges, had great conversations and introductions from all around the world. It is really an amazing thing to be a part of, and I’d like to thank you for being a part of it all.
It really is a great community. If you are new here, go ahead and join the rally point. No trolls, or insecure-living-in-my-mom’s-basement internet alter egos allowed. Just a community of better humans getting things done and sharing great insight.
Other Highlights:
A lot of other cool things happen around End of three Fitness worth mentioning like…
- I had a second guest post featured on the Art of Manliness about Garage Gyms (the first was the DIY Prowler).
- I got to interview Ben Smith, 2nd place at the 2013 CrossFit Games.
- I have had some great conversations with Mike Bledsoe the founder of Barbell Shrugged
- As far as DIY; we have added the Wheelbarrow/Sled, Jerk Boxes, A(nother) Plyometric Box and the 10-Min DIY Pull-up Bar (and two of those were user submitted!)
- Growth; Last year’s birthday post we were at 800 Facebook fans and 1,000 readers. This year we are at nearly 3,000 Facebook fans and 3,000 readers!
Next Stop for the Revolution?
The Mental Toughness Militia.
I have been working on a reader-driven product for almost the last year called the Mental Toughness Militia. Having communicated with thousands of my readers on what they struggle with most and what they would like to see, and something I originally started just for myself, the Mental toughness Militia was born.
At its core, the Mental Toughness Militia is a 21-day program full of articles, tasks and workouts to help you increase your motivation, stick to workout programs and to become more mentally tough in fitness and in life. There will also be multiple 6-week fitness programs at your disposal as well as a 21-day diet correction program with articles and tasks as well.
This project has been a lot of work, but it has also been a lot of fun. As someone who has trained and does train military personnel it was easy to take from my experience to start the program, but I had to go further than that. I balanced discussions with Navy SEALs, sports psychologists and people I view as mentally tough to create a program that is not designed to help a person to get through BUDs, but rather a mental toughness program designed for the other guy, just like everything else here at End of Three Fitness. The first test group just graduated from the 21-day program and the second test group started yesterday. Making sure this stuff is perfect before it is released.
I don’t want to give any more details or share too much. However, I am looking to release this program at the beginning (January) of next year (fingers crossed), and as always, I like to offer the pre-release discount to my interested readers first (plus other incentives for email subscribers, but that will come during the release).
If this sounds like something you are interested in click on the link below and sign-up for the pre-release (some of you already have).
This will be open until a few weeks before the release and then closed forever. So be sure to sign-up even if you are a little interested. There is no commitment, just an email address and don’t worry, you email is safe with me and backed by my promise (read my promise here).
What will happen in the next year of the better-human revolution? Who know, but I can’t wait to find out! Thanks for being a part of Eo3!
Thanks,
Jerred
